Could be worse.  My walk through my DETROIT metro office parking lot never failed to impress with regards to what folks considered tire tread.

The best tires you can buy. They last forever and stick like glue to snow. 3 ply sidewalls for curb feeling.

This is a national park special.  I see this type of combo a lot here in Utah. regular car + beefy tires to do all the national park byways that require a touch of ruggedness.
